The Engle started out very weird-creepyish. My husband was done after page 100. He thought it was too much...But me I don't give up on something that fast so I continued reading and could not put my nook color down. I just finished and it was a really good story. The ending in my opinion was different. I'm glad it wasn't the fairy tale ending, it's a different type of story and that's what I enjoyed. If your into creative stories you'll like this one. When is the second book coming out I can't wait to find out what happens and what abilities Jacob will deveolop, but most imporatantly, learning the outcome of the decision at the end of the book....it's rather interesting to me. Good job Penelope.

This was a good read. I wasnt expecting it to be so good. It did have a number of errors that could be confusing at times, but I shuffled on and continued reading. I do have to say that I truly hated the ending. It was just nasty and selfish. Its wrong to hurt someone like that. I was and still am expecting on of the guys to die. Preferably Patrick. It would simplify some things and complicate others, making the story better in my opinion.

I love this book so much!!! It was one of the first book that I got on my nook and now have read it at least five times. I have been trying to find out when the next book will come out but can not find any information about it. I will be so happy when I can continue reading the series.

I enjoyed the story, the plot wasn't as deep as I might have hoped, but it wasn't overly predictable either. The grammar was horrible, and I did find it distracting to have to stop and figure out what it was supposed to say (there, they're and their are not interchangeable words, and I do hope that the sequel has better copy editing.) Overall, however, I did like the book. The characters are easy to like (or dislike, as the case may be,)and the story moves at a good pace. The one thing I did find hard to buy into was the time period- modern speech patterns were inconsistant with the times the characters were living in. Being honest, this is a case of getting what you paid for...if I had paid for the book, my review would be quite different. I am curious enough about how the tale will end, that I will definitely be reading the next book.
