Meet the Author

I was born in Alamogordo, New Mexico and spent a lot of time under the impression that I would be a biologist. In high school, I went back forth between wanting to be a writer or a graphic artist. I decided to go to the Savannah College of Art and Design before I made an official decision since I could study both there. Shortly after beginning my studies at SCAD, I realized writing was really what I wanted to do with my life. I'm currently halfway toward getting my BFA in Writing.

My first thought was that this was a "cute" story, although I get the feeling that wasn't what the author was going for. The description was vivid, the mini-plot was interesting and believable, and the characters interesting. Yet again, Ms Surowitz has managed to write a short story where the reader is left wanting more. In this case, she could possibly base an entire novel on Maeve and her clergy support system.
