Hey, fellow citizen, the Visa bill arrived yesterday in the mail and every one of us owes $45,000 to the foreign bank. I want to know who dropped our Congressmen off at the Mall with the credit cards. I didn't do it. Did you?
I certainly don't have the money to pay the bill. Hell, I can't even make the minimum payment. My job was moved overseas. The credit company called and demanded their money. They threatened to cut up our plastic. I suggested they raise our limit. That didn't go over well.
I'm not looking forward to this phone call in a few years, but I know it's coming at us like a runaway train. We must stop this train before it destroys us.
In this book, I offer concrete proposals to derail business as usual politics, and we don't need those in Washington to lead the way. They work for us. We must turn to the Constitution as a guide. Government can again be fiscally responsible and non-intrusive.
I propose a new Constitutional Convention where we redefine the role of the federal government through ten constitutional amendments, our new Bill of Responsibilities. Further, I provide concrete proposals for reorganizing and downsizing Washington. I propose changes to taxation and the social safety net. And I propose fixes to rescue the economy, health care, education, and the immigration system.
I'm just a regular American citizen. I am not famous or political. I read the paper and watch the news and I'm tired of the fairytales I'm told by the corrupt noblemen in Washington. I love my country and I don't want to lose it.
