I have always loved books, romance and wished that everyone (most especially me) would find their happily ever after. Add in my love of London, England set in a period when ladies strived to be genteel and dresses could barely fit through doors, and it was obvious I could write nothing but historical romances.

    I waited months for this book and it was worth every bit of my long not so patient wait! Alex is my dream hero, he is brooding, sexy, and hopelessly in love with Charlotte. When she left him at the alter 5 years before he was almost destroyed. When she comes back into his life 5 years later he is hurt and angry, but deep down still loves her just as much. Alex really makes her suffer for a while for hurting him and keeping his son from him. The book was both heartbreaking and very sexy! My favorite type of romance is the loves reunited and this was just perfect. I loved this book

    Read all of the Elusive Lords!

    Amazing series! This is another amazing read in the Elusive Lords series and i couldn't put it down. You will want to read all of the other amazing books in this series to really get the whole picture of Alex and Charlotte. Dont pass these books up

    I absolutely loved this book.... I did not want to put it down.... I first found Beverley Kendall from her free Nook book.... I just fell in love with her Historical Romance series.... And I can not wait for the next book!!!

When you think you know what the book is about, you don't. Ending shocked me. Now I'm wondering how soon it will be before Beverly releases Catherine and Lucas' book. Quite the teaser there at the end. Loved this entire series.

    A Must READ! Couldn't put this down!

    When I received an email stating that this book was available, I bought it on my Nook immediately. Her other 3 books for this series was really good and she kept up with the awesome writing in this one. Read it in one day (and I'm a working mother of 3)! I agreed with the other review, you must read the other 3 books to have a better understanding/appreciation of the story line and characters. Love, love and absolutely LOVE ALEX!

    WOW - AWESOME!!! This was amazing - my 4th book by Ms Kendall

    WOW - AWESOME!!! This was amazing - my 4th book by Ms Kendall and possibly my favorite. Please read all the Elusive Lord books in order. This was a book with over 747 Nook pages, and so well worth the money. Usually, I can figure out the ending , but not with this book. So many surprises, you will be shocked.

    Emotional Roller-coaster, worth the wait!

    I had been waiting and waiting and waiting for this one to finally come out after reading the teaser at the end of the last book. Sigh, and let me tell you it was totally worth it!
    As far as I'm concerned, Beverly could end the series with this one, because she truly outdid herself. (but don't worry she's not)
    TIP: If you read 1st chapter teaser don't skip in in the book, she made a couple changes to it that you'll need to know about!!!

    Fantastic!

    This is my second book by this author and i love her stories. I did not like the premise of this story at first but the author fixed it up nicely. The male lead was mean to the female but understandable. I like stories with strong male leads. The romance was great.

    Worth waiting for!!

    I couldn't wait for Alex and Charlotte's story to come out! It was definitely worth the wait. I wasn't sure how Beverley was going to write their story, since we were led in with them being in love and getting ready to be married. WOW, the twist and turns, the angst...it drove me crazy and kept me on the edge of my seat. I read it straight through and couldn't put it down till it was done. It was nice to catch up with some of the other couples from the previous books. I look forward to Catherine's story and the new series!

    A Must-Read Book

    An Heir of Deception is a wonderful conclusion in the Elusive Lords trilogy. For those who read the first two books, Charlotte Rutherford has always been in love with Alex, but she was too young for a relationship. This story begins with an older Charlotte jilting Alex on their wedding day and the ramifications that ensue. Five years after her disappearance and believing her twin sister is ill, Charlotte arrives back on English soil. She has secrets that she doesn't want to reveal, but within minutes of her homecoming, one of her secrets is unmasked. Although she is confronted by an angry Alex and is shattered by Alex's dismissal, Charlotte understands that she is the sole cause of it. She left to protect her family and fiance, but upon seeing Alex again, Charlotte realizes the true cost of that decision. Now she hopes that Alex will listen to her reasons for abandoning him and forgive her. This book reintroduces us to past characters, unmasks long-held secrets and demonstrates the power of forgiveness. This is a wonderful romance that demonstrates the depths of Alex's anguish and the cost of trying to do the right thing. The book also introduces readers to Lucas Beaumont and sets up the next series by this talented author.
