About the Author

About The Author
Fred Saberhagen is widely published in science fiction and fantasy. He is best known for his Berserker®, Swords, and Dracula series. In the five book series The Book Of The Gods Saberhagen gives new life to myths from a number of traditions. Among his many stand alone novels are Veils Of Azlaroc, Mask Of The Sun, and The Frankenstein Papers. An intriguing story of Edgar Allan Poe, The Black Throne, was co-authored with Roger Zelazny.

Born and raised in Chicago, Fred served four years in the US Air Force, then worked at the usual variety of writer's jobs, including a stint in the editorial office of Encyclopedia Britannica. When writing became a full time occupation, Fred and his young family moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico where he lived until his death in 2007.

A collection of Fred's short stories Of Berserkers, Swords & Vampires: A Saberhagen Retrospective was published in 2009. An anthology based on and including Mask Of The Sun will be published in 2011 under the title Golden Reflections.
