Angela's Diner has the reputation of a safe haven where patrons find a moment of peace as they linger over coffee and tears. For one young runaway, Angela's is more than a place to tell your tale -- it's a place where with the magic of chicken and waffles, and a little bit of trust, may just save your life.

Gabriella Santiago used to be a typical teenager who enjoyed the usual teenage things. That is until a single tragic day ended who she was and within hours she ran from home, never to look back.

Only when Gabby is cold, hungry and at her lowest, does she find Angela's Diner. Gabby embraces her new life and the family she has found in the midst of strangers and obscurity.

Acceptance is what she craves, but before long, Gabby realizes she's not the only one in the diner with something to hide. Her new family has a secret too, and some secrets refuse to stay buried.

Blog: Books, Thoughts And A Few Adventures... - Patty Magyar
"This book almost has the feel of a cozy mystery. It was not predictable at all and took me to surprising places. I was mad and angry and worried and sad. But I loved every bit of it.

Meet the Author

Brian Spangler is a husband, father and a quiet engineer; at least that's what he thought he was. Turns out there's a writer trapped within that engineer's brain! Slowly but surely, Brian Spangler has dug his inner writer out--one genre at a time. He's a bestselling author of Women's Fiction, and dabbles in Science Fiction/Dystopian, and even wrote a few Supernatural Thrillers... a very interesting mix of genres, with more yet to come.

Originally born in Philadelphia--as one-half of a set of twins--he now resides in Virginia with his wife and two children (also twins!). And adding to the family are three cats, a parrot, lizard, mouse, chinchilla and the occasional random scary creatures who visit late at night, as wild, scary animals are apt to do.

To keep up to date, sign up for his newsletter by copying and pasting this link into your browser: writtenbybrian.com/sign-up/ He won't spam, share, or send you random musings; just a heads up when the next book is out or when he's giving away free stuff, which he tends to do from time to time.

    Short book

Just bought this book and haven't read it yet; but the ebook is only 164 pages, nowhere near 400 pages! Disappointed already.

This is one of the best books I've ever read. The author is a gifted storyteller. Anyone who has ever experienced a difficult relationship will appreciate this story. You'll have a difficult time putting the book down long enough to sleep, and you won't ever forget Angela's Diner or any of these characters.

    Sincerely,
    Hays Williams

This was a really good story! The more I read, the more I felt the characters were like family and the diner was like home; and I cared what happened to both. I enjoyed it so much. I didn't want the story to end. I would definitely read other books by this author.

    Great reading

I loved this story. The author catches your interest early and brings you into the story and the diner. I enjoyed every bit of this book. It had no dull sections, where you skim instead of read. I could picture it as a movie.

    It's great!

This book reminds me of a Carrie Newcomer song:"Betty's Diner". This is a wonderful story with well-drawn characters. Sure, some of the story is predictable, but there are enough twists to keep it interesting.

I will definately look for more from this author
