She had accidentally been separated from the rest of the family and her need to escape France has become paramount, something her sheltered life and refined upbringing has left her unprepared for. Her only choice is to turn to her guardian's belligerent and selfish half-brother, Tomas Sanbonne.

Virginie is certain that her guardian's faith in his half-brother is misplaced, but her dire circumstances mean she must beseech his assistance. She must reach safety beyond French shores and she will just have to put up with his considerable disapproval of her and everything she stands for.

Meet the Author

I am about to release my eight novel, Sequence Effect and am working on the third book in the D'Arth Series, following on from the Gift. I live in New Zealand and I work on the railroad. No kidding. Actually I have a desk, from where I manage the safety systems. My love for Harry Potter is what drew me into writing and I haven't stopped since. I've only recently started writing original stories. I live with my partner, our five year old girl and our dog.

    It was entertaining

For the most part it is a good story about love, class, and equality in France then England and America. There were grammar issues and in the last chapter of the last page the sentence is not complete it just skips to the epilogue. Other then those things it was good.

Great story. I enjoyed reading about Tomas and Virginie escape from France to England and to America.
To quote reviewers from 22& 24 June, this story includes all of that and adventure. I was proud of Virginie
for not allowing social class to prevent her from having true love. To have spunk to travel from England
to America (my grandparents home state of New Orleans). *vrnb*

    Good story

For only 170 pages a lot happens in this book. Takes place during the french revolution. Interesting characters. Not very deep or detailed in some respects. In others, very detailed. Little sex. Very good read especially for free.

    welll

It was intiguing and insightful aboutthe French revolution. The explicit bedroom scenes did not add to the story and I don't read those.
