Meet the Author

Ever since I can remember, I have always enjoyed creative writing. There was always something about being able to travel to a different place or become a different person with just the stroke of a pen - or in today's world a touch of the keyboard. My life is not as interesting as my books or the characters in them, but then again whose life is? I was born and have lived in New Jersey my whole life. I'm a mom of twin teenage boys, a teenage stepson, a crazy Border Collie and a cat with an identity crisis! I guess you can say writing is my form of Calgon! I am married to a wonderful guy - but we'll keep that between us, I don't want him getting a big head!

This book was great. It captured and kept my attention from the first few pages. There was a few unexpected surprises just when you thought it was over. The obvious lesson to me was don't judge a book by its cover. The two main characters were deeper than they appeared. A must read.

    Great read!

Great book by a great new author. This story was well told and kept moving, I didn't want to put it down. When it ended, I was liking the newfound characters and almost hoping for a sequel.

An Unplanned Lesson is a warm, romantic read that takes two people with life experience, their shares of ups and downs, and makes them work! Both Nicole and Dailan have had very bad things happen in their life, and both approach it, or rather runaway from it, in different ways. That is until they meet one another. All their rules and differences seem to go out the window. The passion that erupts between the two whether they are making snarky comments, glaring, kissing, or simply occupying the same space, is explosive. Add Dailan's sexy Irish brogue and she is a totally goner!

Beth Rinyu has written a novel about character's with real problems and how they deal with them. The family problems, the insecurities, the jealousy, and the storm that brews between two sensual, strong characters, is describe and executed beautifully throughout the pages of this story. The reader cannot help but fall in love with both Nicole and Dailan. The journey is half the fun in this sexy, romantic, and entertaining tale!

Solid 4 stars. Entertaining cute read. Well, since I can't go to Ireland a HOT Irish guy would have to do!
Both characters had baggage and insecurities but believe it or not it worked well for them since neither had any expectations for the future....yet.

What could have made this book better? More schmexy steamy scenes. The "it" scenes were not exactly fade to black but not much more. A tiny bit more was given at times but not much. The author seems to be uncomfortable with writing the steamy scenes,-example; the use of the work penis- who refers to the lovely male part that way in a romance novel? I get it I really do, I am sure it is difficult to write those type of scenes. Even though this was not one of "those" books more descriptive sex scenes would have knocked the book out of the park especially since that is what attracted them to each other in the first place.

The witty banter and sarcasm made me laugh out loud. The chemistry between the two characters was undeniable. Surprise ending which makes the entire story come together. I will definitely read more from this author

    An Unplanned Lesson

An Unplanned Lesson was an unexpected gem of a story. It was a little sad in spots but mostly very sweet and very funny. Dailan and Nicole’s unauspiscious introduction was absolutely hilarious and the cat and mouse game that ensued was truly entertaining…especially every time Nicole succame to Dailan’s advances. The erroneous text messages, the witty retorts, and the banter between them kept me laughing through the first quarter of the story.

Nicole’s strained relationship with her family was woven all throughout the story. Ms. Rinyu alluded to an earlier event that caused the strain but the reader is journeying through the 8 year aftermath. The only person that Nicole has a decent relationship with is her younger brother, and Marine, Justin. Justin was her rock and her only real familial connection throughout most of the story. It really and truly broke my heart when that changed. I was actually in tears. *No hints from me…you’ll have to read it to find out what happened…keep your hanky handy* :) But because of Justin and one other situation, the family was able to reconnect and reconcile.

Little Ryan was such a sweetheart! You just wanted to hug him. He was the bridge that connected Dailan and Nicole in more ways than one.

At about 95% the big secret hadn’t been revealed and I was getting a little irritated thinking that the author had forgotten about it. I mean seriously…it was a major part of the story and it was forgotten?!?! *eye roll* With 5% of the story remaining, Rinyu nicely closed the loop and tied all the little details together. It was remarkably well done. The reader was able to understand everything.

In a nutshell, the story was sweet, funny, and very charming. Read it. Love it!

Let me start by saying that the lesson learned by the protagonis

Let me start by saying that the lesson learned by the protagonist in this book is really unplanned. That's one of the reasons why I am so in loved with this book. I am quite sure that my review will never ever justify how much I love An Unplanned Lesson. It actually took me a week to finish this review since I just can't find the right words for this amazing story. I was left speechless.

Nicole Morgan have a pretty messed up life -- having short-term jobs, or being jobless at all; failure in love life because she's afraid of marriage and it's responsibilities; and she's not in good terms with her parents who talks about nothing but about the life of her sister. All she have is her younger brother, her "pooh", Justin, who works as a Marine. The story of her life is very realistic that you can actually put yourself into her shoes.

Until she found a job as a grade school teacher and met the little devil Ryan O'Maley. She can't seem to find out how to control him so she called over his guardian. It turned out that Ryan's uncle, Dailan o'Maley, is just as devilish as the kid. He's arrogant, sarcastic, and... hot. Yes. Smokin' hot. She wasn't prepared for a guy like him. She thought she would hate him to death but she's wrong about that. She wanted him as much as he wanted her.

As the story went on, I found out that Ryan is such a very sweet little guy. He's also loving whatever is going on with his teacher and his uncle. As for Nicole and Dailan, I kinda fell in love with their love-hate relationship for each other, or whatever label they have for it. I just hated Nicole when I noticed she's about the repeat one of her biggest mistakes in the past. I mean, seriously, who wouldn't fall for a guy like Dailan?! Who would even doubt falling in love with him?!

But somewhere along the story, I shed tears. Heavily. Something happened that broke my heart and shattered it into pieces. Tears can't stop falling down my cheeks. I just told myself that sometimes, all I need is a really good cry. And this book, this book provided it for me. I loved the ending, though. There is this secret from Nicole's past that was revealed in the end I just love how Beth concealed it from the beginning. I thought that secret will not be exposed until the second book but I was shocked.

I totally recommend this to whoever book lover I know. This is such an amazing book and I wanted to read the next book so bad!

Most of you by now know that I’m a sucker when it comes to a good romance.  So, when I saw this one come through, I really couldn’t resist signing up.  And I’m glad I didn’t.  Yep, it was great reading. I couldn’t wait to finish this one.  And I might have fallen just a little in love with Dailan.  I mean seriously, who wouldn’t fall in love with the Irish playboy who is falling in love with Nicole?

Ah, Nicole.  Poor thing, we don’t find out her story until near the end, but you know that something is going on with her and you just hurt for her.  I actually found myself in tears at times for the way her family treated her.

    Yep, this book sold me!
