Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Julie Lodermeier
This educational book about anacondas turns the reader into an anaconda expert. Fun chapter titles like "Super Sized Snake" and "What's For Dinner" give the reader an idea of what they are going to learn. Readers may feel intrigued to discover that anacondas are difficult to study since they leave no trail. In fact they do not like to attack, preferring to slither away stealthy unnoticed. Essential content terms are in bold and are defined at the bottom of each page where they first appear, as well as a glossary section in the back. The book is full of fun fact bubbles that give readers even more insight into these slithery snakes. Fabulous pictures put the reader right in the middle of the action and enable the reader to examine these snakes up close. This book gives the reader many opportunities to explore many subject areas, including measurement and geography. Reviewer: Julie Lodermeier
