More About This Book

“In view of the brilliant success of the first edition, I have been emboldened to hope that, in this new and more perfect form, the book again may attract many friends.

First of all I want to thank my dear friend and co-worker of our course RUTH HAMPTON for her collaboration in the presentation of the difficult chapters on The Technique of Modern Graphology.

The object of this book is to present some of the modern technique which is used to make correct analyses of hand-writing.

Scientific graphology now maintains a respected place in psychological research. There is an increasing realization that graphology is a dependable means of revealing the essential traits of character to such a degree that the results can be used to determine honesty or dissimulation, strength or weakness of character. Graphology detects aptitudes for vocations as well as the essence of the personality.

From the vast collection of samples of handwritings which I have assembled in many countries, and through my study and experience, I have proof of the similarity in any language of man’s expression of character.

My experience as a vocational counselor in schools and as an advisor in criminal investigation has added to my wide collection of signatures and specimens of various types of handwriting. I have made tests of personality where such analysis has been required in social psychology ranging from the normal to the abnormal.

It is through such investigation and experience as mine that graphology has at last been accepted as a science.

There have been several books of importance published in the past twenty years, but the circulation has been com-paratively small; therefore, few people are aware that graphology is a science rather than an amusement. Graphology can be used successfully in many branches of human endeavor.

And it is with this book that I want to awaken interest in possibilities of graphology in determining character, and guiding latent talents or abilities into suitable channels.

It is for this purpose that I am publishing some of my specimens of handwriting and their analyses so that the reader can see for himself the aid graphology can give to all. Through graphology we can weigh the plus and minus aspects of character and, through the aspects revealed, a person can be guided on to the right road for success in this business of living.”
