Well, with Y2K having come and gone without a hitch, with his fourth recording ANARCHY, the rebellious rapper has toned down the deep thoughts in lieu of more carefree hip-hop that showcases his trademark, rapid-fire flow and musical ingenuity. Although the album's intro indulges his past pessimism, it quickly segues into "Salute Da Gods," which cleverly recasts the sweet, lilting melody of the Stylistics' classic "Betcha by Golly Wow." Keeping the party spirit going, Swizz Beats' slow, off-kilter rhythms highlight "We Put It Down for Y'all," and Just Blaze invigorates "Street Sh*t" with infectious 70s' style, Fender Rhodes keyboard licks. Meanwhile, with a combination of low-key rapping and stuttered, up-tempo beats, "Fire" approaches the brilliance of Rhymes's classic "Put Hands Where My Eyes Could See," and "Show Me What You Got" adds a raucous fury to its sample of Stereolab's whimsical "Come and Play in the Milky Night." Although a few big-name guests lend their support Lenny Kravitz, Jay Z, and DMX, Rhymes runs the show. More than a decade into his career, he's still a leader of hip-hop's new school.

Busta Rhymes is undoubtedly one of the best and most distinctive rappers of the '90s. He's also one of the most prolific; Anarchy, released in the summer of 2000, is his fourth album since 1996. Each one has been jammed full of material and also a little erratic, packed not only with great singles and tongue-twisting performances but also filler that gets by mostly on Busta's personality. Clocking in at around 78 minutes, Anarchy is no exception to the rule. Its best moments are as brilliant as ever, but there are also signs that Busta's winning formula is starting to show a little wear and tear. "C'Mon All My Niggaz, C'Mon All My Bitches" has the insanely rapid-fire delivery of E.L.E.'s "Gimme Some More," which sums up the difficulty of Anarchy in a nutshell: no matter how incredible it is, we've heard much of this from Busta before. Of course, the converse is also true: a lot of it is still incredible, no matter how familiar, and there are a few intriguing production touches. But, perhaps for the first time, Busta's singular yet now familiar style isn't quite enough to carry the weaker material, which often feels too tossed off. It doesn't help, either, that Anarchy follows the same sort of millennial-apocalypse concept that enlivened E.L.E. and, to a certain extent, When Disaster Strikes; it's a little disappointing to hear such an inventive rapper retreading familiar territory. It seems almost impossible that Busta could produce a true failure, but by this point, a growing number of fans may not salivate over a new album nearly as much as the inevitable best-of collection.

    Busta Rhymes : Too High!!!

    According to me, as most of rappers , he's great . But what makes the difference? His various and own style . He doesn't need to make rap for money like a lot of rappers to be famous. He does it simply , naturally and it works very well . Keep goin' on this way !

    busta rhymes is a nut

    i have yet to hear a busta album i did not like, usually there are 2-3 song s per tape that i don't particularly grow fond to. but i love busta rhymes and he's got to appeal to everybody not just me.

    Just what your looking for........

    Busta rhymes has given the world the album of the year,and then some. Who do you know to give you these flawless flows up off his chest? He hits us with fire, bust one for me, and make noise, and people want to hate on a brothers joint. You non believers are killing me. Only the illest will survive, and only the realist realize. So all those who don't know better act like they know. Buy this album ''fo sho''!!!!!

    WEAK

    What Happened. He had it all going for him. Extinction Level Event was dope, but for some reason he decided to change styles. There is no comparison between Anarchy and Level Event. Level Event: Phat Anarchy:WEAK Dont buy this CD Huge dissapointment

    Busta did it again

    This album is full of beats from the beginning till the end. It is worth the money, and is full of non stop music. The style is a little different than his previous works, but it as a vast improvement. Buy this CD!

    FLIPMODE IZ DA SQUAD!!!

    Busta Rhymes rips it up on this album.Songs like 'A Trip Out Of Town','Show Me What You Got',Bladow are like whoa! Even though this album is mad tight, the only set back is that a lot of the songs are kind of short but other than that this is amust have.
