Lois Lowry is known for her versatility and invention as a writer. She was born in Hawaii and grew up in New York, Pennsylvania, and Japan. After several years at Brown University, she turned to her family and to writing. She is the author of more than thirty books for young adults, including the popular Anastasia Krupnik series. She has received countless honors, among them the Boston Globe-Horn Book Award, the Dorothy Canfield Fisher Award, the California Young Reader’s Medal, and the Mark Twain Award. She received Newbery Medals for two of her novels, NUMBER THE STARS and THE GIVER. Her first novel, A SUMMER TO DIE, was awarded the International Reading Association’s Children’s Book Award. I liked this book because it is funny and because I love the Anastasia series. I like the way Anastasia discusses all her problems with her family and when Sam is arround.

This wasn't as good as Anastasia, Ask Your Analyst, but it was still very good! Lois Owry certainly has a way with Junior Fiction!

Anastasia had a ton of responsibilites in this book. I felt bad for her. But she is not very smart. I know(knew) more than her when i was 11 and know more than her now that im 12. I always thorght she was really smart but she proves me wrong in each book. Oh and by the way i like the old covers better. im sorry but i think the new cover model is kind of ugly or...... bear.and you can email me if you know her or something. this is the only new cover that she looks decent on. In fact, sam is smarter that anastacia.

This book is about a thirteen year old girl, who is put in charge by her mother while she goes to California for buisness. Her mother put her in charge because her father works and her brother is only three years old. Unexpectically her little brother Sam gets chicken pox. So Anastasia has no other choice than to stay home from school with him. Anastasia does all the work she can do until her friend Steve Harvey calls her. He asks why she wasn't at school at all this week. Then he asks what her plans are for friday night. She says nothing. He then asks her if she would enjoy a night at the movies with some friends. When Anastasia hangs up, her father says that his old friend is coming friday night. So when Anastasia heard the news she was bummed out. She would have to watch her little brother that friday night. So she called up Steve Harvey and asked if he would mind coming over to her house for dinner instead. He said "no problem." So all the other work that she had to do was not going to be done because she had to get ready. Will Anasatsia and her father enjoy their Friday evening? Find out in this book.

Anastasia is a fun, smart and cool girl. This book is about Anastasia's experience while her mother goes to California. Read it and see all Anastasia goes through to impress a boy and how her 'dream date' turns out

Anastasia is a teenager who's a great sister, a wonderful daughter ,and chef. It's a funny and compelling story that intriges your interest. You won't want to put this book down;I know i did't. I give this book five stars because it was the best book i have ever read in my entire life. lois Lowery is a great author who detailed this book very well so you get a wonderful description of the story.
