Overview

"This book is a basic atlas of anatomy applied to diagnostic imaging. It covers the entire human body, employing all the imaging modalities used in clinical practice: X-ray, CT, MR, ultrasound and scintigraphy. All the more than 800 carefully selected images are easy to read due to their high quality and the comprehensive anatomical interpretation that is drawn and labelled directly on a contact print accompanying every image." The original and didactically convincing presentation throughout reflects the authors' extensive experience in pre- and postgraduate teaching of anatomy and radiology.

The book contains black-and-white illustrations.

Steven W. Fitzgerald
This atlas contains a spectrum of radiographs, computed tomograms, barium studies, angiograms, monograms and magnetic resonance images of the entire body as a guide to teaching cross-sectional anatomy and to understanding the anatomic content of contemporary diagnostic imaging studies. The purpose is to provide a comprehensive source of radiographic and cross-sectional images that demonstrate radiographic anatomy essential to medical education as well as clinical and radiographic practice. The book is intended primarily for medical students and other health professionals-in-training who utilize radiographic imaging in their practice. Radiology residents and radiographers who also find this atlas useful. The book contains nearly 500 figures which include radiographs, barium studies, angiograms, computed tomograms, monograms, scintigrams and magnetic resonance studies of all body regions. Line drawings and annotated radiograms provide anatomic correlation. Legends are provided on each page. An introductory review of the imaging techniques used to generate the images is a nice feature. Radiographic images are generally of good quality and labeling is accurate. This atlas is a good supplement to anatomy teaching for beginning medical students and an excellent component of radiology clerkships for junior and senior students.
