All Music Guide - Matt Collar
The soundtrack to the 2013 comedy film Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues features more classic rock songs perfectly "leisure"-suited to the film's vintage setting. In keeping with the '70s vibe of the first Anchorman soundtrack, here we get a bevy of yacht rock-era hits including Captain & Tennille's "Muskrat Love," Jay Ferguson's "Thunder Island," and England Dan & John Ford Coley's "I'd Really Love to See You Tonight." However, as Anchorman 2 takes place around 1980, we also get a few early-'80s tracks like Christopher Cross' "Ride Like the Wind" -- included here in both its original format and reworked by Robin Thicke and Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell) -- John ...

The soundtrack to the 2013 comedy film Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues features more classic rock songs perfectly "leisure"-suited to the film's vintage setting. In keeping with the '70s vibe of the first Anchorman soundtrack, here we get a bevy of yacht rock-era hits including Captain & Tennille's "Muskrat Love," Jay Ferguson's "Thunder Island," and England Dan & John Ford Coley's "I'd Really Love to See You Tonight." However, as Anchorman 2 takes place around 1980, we also get a few early-'80s tracks like Christopher Cross' "Ride Like the Wind" -- included here in both its original format and reworked by Robin Thicke and Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell) -- John Waite's "Change," and Grandmaster Melle Mel's 1983 hip-hop classic "White Lines (Don't Do It)." As with the first Anchorman soundtrack, Anchorman 2 features humorous between-track segments from Ferrell as his alter ego, stentorian news legend Ron Burgundy, as well as a few choice bits from the film. This adds a layer of meta-style, in-character comedy to the listening experience as Burgundy introduces the soundtrack and proceeds to guide you through the album. Whether you are a fan of '70s and '80s pop or bawdy satire, or simply want something to cue up on the hi-fi as you relax in your Naugahyde recliner while sipping a glass of Courvoisier in your slippers and housecoat, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues should, in the words of Ron Burgundy, help you stay classy.

Wow. What can I say about this soundtrack? It has nearly all the songs contained in the film. I love the whole Anchorman series, and this CD just adds another rich layer to the character that is Mr. Ron Burgundy.
