Overview

After completing Navy SEAL training, Cooper Fitch and Eli Jones face assignment to different platoons. Since the strength of their mutual physical attraction is exceeded only by their emotional reliance on each other, the idea of being separated for a year or more is a bitter pill to swallow. But missing Eli may be just the beginning of Cooper's troubles: he's got an undisciplined man in his platoon, an uptight commanding officer, and his own insecurity about his leadership skills to deal with. Without Eli at his back, Cooper starts to wonder if he really has what it takes to be a SEAL. *Sequel to Maritime Men

Editorial Reviews

Queer Magazine - Anne Reviewer
One of the delights of Chapel's writing is the sheer blood sweat and tears reality of the situations she describes. You never forget that you are reading about tough men in tough military situations, which makes the romance all the more passionate and also all the more full of suspense; the last thing Eli and Cooper can handle at this stage, for the sake of their careers, is discovery.

I first found Janey Chapel through the anthology Reflections of Love. So then I went looking for more and found Maritime Men. I then immediately went for this one. After finishing it today, I went after the rest of this author's work available here at B&N. Another auto-buy author for me. Her stories are compelling - it's everyday life for the characters we're introduced to - what they want, need, feel, etc. These 2 men want and need each other and they feel that strongly as well as the need to serve their country. Their emotions are honest and real. This is not just romance, for a good part of the story they aren't even together physically or in contact, but they have a solid connection that strengthens them each as individuals, on the job and off, even as they can't share that with the world . These are characters I would like to meet in real life, and I look forward to maybe reading more about them in the future.
