Meet the Author

Kathleen Bacus's path to publication can certainly be described as "the road less traveled." A pioneer for women in law enforcement, she was one of the first female state troopers in Iowa, and learned two very valuable lessons that have served her well in her pursuit of a professional writing career: never give up and never stop laughing. The mother of triplets, Kathleen began writing when she was homebound with four children under the age of three. She says,"Writing was my way of getting away from it all—without ever leaving the house!"

Kathleen is an award-winning author and makes her home in central Iowa. Visit Kathleen at her website at www.kathybacus.com or follow the Killer Fiction Writers blog at www.killerfictionwriters.blogspot.com.

These books are so worth it! It had me at the edge of my seat! Buy this series! I would suggest reading all six books! Skipping around takes the fun out of it!

Well, shiver me timbers and fetch me, me kerchief. This old buccaner is going to bawl an ocean of salt water, if that scalawag of a pen pusher has finished off the Rick and Tressa series. May me parrot poop on her head, if it is so. I love these books. I would really like Tressa to end up with Rick and continue to get herself and him into all kinds of situations. Recommend reading for girls and lady pirates age 16 and up. No sex, no murdder in this one, some mild kissing scenes, a few curse words, with letters left out. Some extremely mild violence. AD

I am happy with who Tressa picked in the end!! I just wish it would have happened sooner in this book and we could have seen the relationship develop further. Tressa dodging her feelings throughout the whole series got a little annoying towards the end and I eventually ended up skipping the parts of her erratic detective work just to read the relationship parts. It was nice to see Tressa become somewhat closer with Taylor in the end as well. I wanted more Gammy and Joe and was sad there wasn't a better epilogue to finish the series off
