I am a high school sophomore that had to do a research project.  For my research project I chose the topic on Mayans.  If you’re looking for a book with the history of the Mayans, this is your book.  The book contains great background information on how the mayans lived and their culture.  It explains the outcome of the empire when  the Europeans came.  You gain better knowledge about the mayans’ traditions and faith.  If you’re also interested in knowing their religion, you’re learn that too with the book.  It will explain the different gods they believe in and what each god represent  You even receive information on their politics and economics.   The book also explains how the mayan civilization came to an end.  I also recommended this book to people who are interested in history or knowing more about the early civilization of some Latin American countries.  The book also contains great photos of temples, arts, and the landscape.   There are also different maps on the countries they lived in.  In the book there are also drawings of the mayan calendar, weapons, and tools.
