Meet the Author

At the age of 50, Sue returned to school to pursue a degree in Art. Her true passion for painting matured after a two week workshop in Florence, Italy, and she graduated Summa Cum Laude from Oregon State University - Cascades Campus with the Distinguished Student - Department of Art Award in 2005. In 2008, at the age of 60, she was accepted into the prestigious National Association of Women Artists. Since then her work has continued to develop and her paintings have been exhibited in major national juried shows, including American Women Artists, American Impressionist Society, Oil Painters of America Western Regional, National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society, Women Artists of the West, and the National Association of Women Artists Members Exhibition. She has participated in solo and group gallery shows, taught and mentored other artists, worked in a commercial art gallery for four years, and served as a board member for two arts organizations. She writes about art through her popular blog Ancient Artist: Developing an art career after 50. Her work is in private collections in the United States and Canada.
She continues to live and paint in the High Desert of Central Oregon with her husband and two dogs.
