All Music Guide - Jonathan Widran
Iranian/Armenian singer Andy Madadian is known as one of the most bootlegged artists in the world -- sold underground in countries like Iran, where the music is banned. He supposedly sells millions to the lovelorn in exotic places who enjoy his colorful mixture of trance-dance rhythms and hypnotic Middle Eastern and flamenco melodies -- and he sings in various languages English, Spanish, Arabic, and Indian to boot. So even if you don't know what he's singing about on "Yalla," you can still get excited about the throbbing flamenco energy. "Niloufareh Bahar" offers a unique blend of exotic atmospheres, a "la la" chorus, and a hip-hop groove, typifying his multicultural ...

"Pendulum Chie Begam" does the same thing, mixing chanting and Arabic flavors with synth atmospheres and techno grooves. He even offers a Middle Eastern twist on the very Western classic "Hotel California." The music here is certainly interesting, a mélange of just about everything -- yet his voice for all its charm just isn't all that powerful or commanding. He is, however, someone whose spirit is fun to watch -- you never know what country he'll dip himself into next.

His most diverse album to date!

I have been a fan of Andy for about 10 years now. His talent and his ability allows his audience to understand how he truly feels. And My Heart is his most diverse album to date. On this album Andy sings in his native tongue Armenian and farsi and takes his audience on a musical journey singing in Spanish, French, Arabic, Indian, and English. His unique voice and blend of eastern and western music has allowed him to capture fans all over the world. This is an album that needs to be added to anyone's collection.

    Andy's taste in music

Andy, I belive, is very selective in the arrangment of music, instruments to be used and the style of music, in the way he merges Western with Persian Music. So far, for past 12 years, he albums have been improving and we hope this will continue. His concerts are full of energy, but I felt that he sometimes gets upset and disappointed because the audience is not to his expectation. I think, he should accept that sometimes, some areas, he's got more fans that other places, but once he notices there are not so many people as what he expects, then he becomes discouraged and it affects his personality on stage. For example, he comes late, leave early, doesn't let his fans take any picture with him and in a way, he runs away. All the best to you Andy.
