    really fun picture book

"Shnoozleland is not too far from anyone you know. It's up a hill and down a spell from anywhere you go." Shnoozles are these incredibly cute little creatures who will appeal to kids everywhere. In "And Next Came a Roar," the Shnoozles are playing ball after school near the big apple tree, which was next to the barn which was used as third base. Whenever the ball is hit into the nearby forest, it comes back in half and red hot with flames. They are down to their last ball and Bubu hits the ball into the forest again. This time they go to search for it and find it in front of a cave with a sign that reads "Bud." All of a sudden, the Shnoozles hear a loud roar! What will happen next?<BR/> This is just a really fun picture book for children to read or have read to them, but it also extols the beauty of friendship and demonstrates the need for children to learn about being inclusive in their play. It won the "Benjamin Franklin Award" from the Independent Book Publishers Association. At the end, there is an interactive "Scavenger Hunt" to help use the book as a teaching tool. "And Next Came a Roar" is available both in printed format and also on a CD that includes the theme song and can be done as a read-along adventure. In addition, you can visit www.shnoozles.com to download free pages with follow-up activities. I imagine that most all kids will surely enjoy Shnoozles. I know that I did.

    A Charming Little Book

This charming little book is written in rhyme, the type of writing children love. Shnoozles are furry little creatures, Oso Orange, YoYo Yellow, GaGa Green, ChuChu Cherry, and BuBu Blue. They play baseball everyday after school, near the very dark, spooky forest. When a ball lands there, something always rolled it back, torn in half and red hot. This frightens the Shnoozles, they wonder what kind of creature lives there? Is it a monster or a dragon? Warning that this is their last ball, ChuChu throws it over the plate, and BuBu hits it straight into the dark forest. They waited but the ball was not returned this time. As they venture into the forest, they discover a cave. Inside the cave lives a two-headed creature named Bud. Wearing animal skins and spitting flames, Bud explains. ¿We just want to play with you when you¿re around. We throw the ball back when it reaches our ground. Were sorry it splits up and burns from our flame. So can we please come back, and play your game?¿ The next day Bud, turns off his flame, dawns two catchers mitts and becomes a valuable part of the team. Shnoozles is recommended for children age 3-7. Your child will have fun looking for Wormington, illustrated on several pages throughout the book. Wormington is a bespectacled worm who lives in a red apple schoolhouse. A scavenger hurt is on the the last two pages in the book to teach word recognition. Each page is numbered to correspond with the tinkle of a bell on the 13 minute CD for easy read along fun. Children will sing along with the happy song at the beginning of the CD and then hear the crack of the bat, the birds, the Shnoozles laughter, and Bud¿s roar as they turn the pages and read along. Brightly illustrated and filled with happy, smiling, lovable creatures.
