This book is an enchanting read. Lynn thoroughly researched the time period and the customs to bring to life the account of Christ's birth, life and ministry from the viewpoint of the midwife who delivers Him. The midwife, Lydia, the lives of her family and the family of Jesus become intertwined throughout the years, giving both a rich experience as God reveals His truths to them through their relationship with Jesus. Women had an important role in the ministry of Christ, and the establishment and spread of the early Church. This book helps us look at Christ in a new light, from the perspective of a woman. Inevitably, in the writing of the book some creative liberties were taken, since there are some details we cannot humanly know. At times it can be challenging to your preconceived idea about Christ and His ministry, but ultimately gives a touching testament to His work on earth, and in the hearts of His believers. Was this review helpful?
