What I was looking for: A Sci-Fi detective novel. What I got: A story about the adventures of three morons. The only "detective" in the story is a police officer doing an interview. The entire story is literally what the suspect says in the interview. And it isn't very interesting. It was the story of three morons who try to blackmail a powerful corporation. It wasn't suspenseful, it wasn't deep. It didn't even make the most use of a very interesting (if you read the other Android books) setting.
And this is from someone who loved "Free Fall" and "Golem". I didn't realize how good those books were until I read how bad a book can be in this one.
