Assessment: Certainly this is a text of excellent quality. The authors are well respected experts in the field and this updated version continues to provide excellent discussions of pertinent anesthesia topics. The expansion of the field is recognized by the addition of new chapters and updates of the previous ones. The benefit of this electronic version is the ability to search its database, access abstracts, and view the video clips of specific procedures, such as interscalene blocks and placement of pulmonary artery catheters.
