One of the better novels I have read in a while. I saw all the mistakes as well, but don't worry about those. It seems crazy to me to be so anal that you can't enjoy a good book because a word is misused or misspelled. It was very good. I recommend it. I was also entertained by the author's use of numerous words that I was unfamiliar with. My nook has a "Look Up" feature that goes straight to a dictionary. I found myself having to use that several times, but enjoyed expanding my vocabulary. Very good book.

This book was very enjoyable to read. The author did a great job assembling these characters. I highly recommend this book. You won't be sorry. It keeps you turning the pages. The main character is like a Philip Marlow or Sam Spade living in the 21st century. Am looking forward to maybe finding this character again in another of his books.

Was a great read kept me entertained in that circle of suspense. Only problem was all the profanity, I don't mind some cussing but you don't have to take the lord's name in vain to make a point. Other than that I enjoyed it.

A story within a story. The story follows the private detective around, but the main plot is the cop trying to kill the hit man. Different.

Found no errors in the reedited verson. I ended up liking the hit man. That was different.

The author wanted to be sure we understood it was "noir" as it was stated several times. Not a likeable main character..not any likeable characters except for the bad guy. He mght have had some morals.

Loved the story Great characters, no profanity or vulgarity The author deserves a better editor- lots of spelling errors:(

Interesting look into how desperation corrupts. Yes, grammar and spelling errors, but after 25 years as a college professor you learn to read what the author intends rather than writes, so I just go with the flow and enjoy the story.

This is worth reading. The story moved steadily, and I have already recommended it to several friends. It had some (very few) editting errors(I blame spell-check), but I will continue checking for stories from this author! And you should, too. SRG DEAL

The plot was wonderful. I felt for the hit man, a cold blooded killer with a surprising soft side. The plot seemed to me to be so possibly real. There were typos, yes. Ican acknowledge them, then read on. Did not distract at all. I would read more fromthis author, if this were to become a series.

This was a very good book. Definately worth reading. There were several spelling/grammar errors but I don't think it ruined the book. I have read a lot of crime, detective and mystery books and I would read something else from this author.

It was a real page turner!  I had no idea how much I would enjoy a detective novel.

This book keeps your interest from page 1 to page 520. I must say didn't care for the ending, made me want to cry for the bad guy and made me mad at Slamm & hate the dirty cop. I don't understand why some people get SO hung up on grammatical errors in a book, just read it and give a review on the book, that's what reviews are for to let people kow if you liked it or not.
