Overview

My name is Darcy Anderson, and I am cursed with a dark power: Whenever my life is in danger, something inside me summons elemental fire to protect me. I cannot control this.

One night, I was attacked in my home. The fire ... it raged out of control. I survived the inferno, but my house burned to the ground - with my parents inside.

I was at a loss to explain to the courts what happened, and so they sent me to prison for ten years for manslaughter.

Now I'm out on parole, and all I want is to return to my home town and rebuild my life; but the man who attacked me is back to finish the job he started.

I can sense the power in me growing. If I can't control it, it will control me and destroy everything - and everyone - I love.

Editorial Reviews

Daniel Barker
I fear giving too much away by saying more, but highly recommend 'Angel Fire - the First Book of Fallen Angels' but not only to the fans of the supernatural. The story is also about new beginnings, and what we need to make them work.

A great read.
CJ Archer
Daniels has nailed the dialog. It's so real and fresh and gives an acute insight into the characters. The only problem with the dialog was there wasn't enough of it!

I highly recommend this book. The Fallen Angels series is going to be terrific if this first book is any indication.

    An okay read.
    Almost 500 story pages...free e-book.
A young girl/woman has the element of fire. When she gets out of jail she meets a man with the element of water. People in her life die, some of them because she kills them.
This one kind of reminds me of the movie "Carrie."
There were some minor (very minor) grammar issues, extra words and such. It's good enough to read once, but it isn't good enough for me to say 'wow.'

Great dialogue and description without going overboard on the details. I do agree with one of the other reviews that the main character was annoying at times. But it worked to create emotion and pull me further into the story. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

    Great concept

Really enjoyed it - more than I thought I would. It could have gone into more detail, but I think that will come in time with later books.

The main character is annoying at times, but I think it is necessary for the story line. Supporting characters are good.

I'm going to read the series.

    Just ok

This book started off ok but the main character Darcy never found out why the fire within her kept coming out and anyone close to her died. It was a little depressing. I won't be reading part two.

    Loved it

I hadn't expected to be sucked so drastically into this story, but I just could not help myself! I am already on book two. There is so much drama and heartache, and such a journey of acceptance of a dark past, that you almost can't NOT be drawn in. It evokes feelings that stir something inside of you, and you find yourself reacting to the characters as if you are now a part of their reality. It also put a new twist on the whole "fallen angels on Earth" category.
I definitely encourage reading Angel Fire. If it's not your cup of tea, then at least this one's free, right?
