    A Wonderful Children's Book

I read this long before I ever heard of the Fairy Tale Novels, and I loved it. It tells the story of a baby in It's mother's womb - with lots of little details we don't even think about. Wonderfully done. I recommend for all ages.

    The Gift of Life

"Angel in the Waters" is s book with rich illustrations to accompany the prose which shows the process of life from before conception through the growth of the baby in the womb, his birth and beginning of life where he joins the family outside the womb. The story is told from the point of the child in the present tense and is kept company by his guardian angel. The angel speaks with the baby while in the womb and reminds him as he grows up he may not be able to see or hear the angel but that he will always be with the child. Those without faith my fine the angel in the book somewhat disconcerting or the reference the angel makes to a better life that awaits the baby when his time on earth is over. Most parents and parents to be will find this book comforting. This booklet will teach or remind all that human life begins at conception and is indeed sacred.

    A Book not for Children

I recently received a book from Sophia Institute Press called "Angel in the Waters" by Regina Doman.

The books images were amazing and beautiful. The illustrator, Ben Hatke, captured the baby in the womb perfectly and didn't just draw pictures of a baby the same size through out but showed the baby tiny and frail growing in the womb.

The book goes through the different stages of growth the baby goes through up until the baby is born and then a few months on the Earth. But other then that that was the only thing I like about the book. The book had an angel in the womb talking to the baby the whole time, which if it were read to my child would confuse her about reality and life. There were many things about child birth that was true but really not necessary for a child to know at such a young age. I have not and will not be reading this book to my 4 year old.

The book also has a page where the angel tells the baby that someday he will take the baby to a bigger and better place. That was such a depressing thought. Felt like being born and living is such a bad thing that we should talk to our kids about dying. Yes, we need to address this issue with our kids but I don't think this book should be the place to start the conversation. To have a book "celebrate" life then in almost the same sentence say "death is better" really hit me wrong.

Over all I think this book is too forward for it to be a kids book. I love the pictures but wouldn't recommend the book to my friends.

Explains the true "miracle of life" to little ones...

If you've been searching for the perfect book to help explain to your little ones how God is the One who "sent" them to you, this precious book is the answer! The dialogue between the unborn baby and his/her guardian angel is simple enough for a child to grasp and will move adults to tears. I highly recommend "Angel in the Waters" as a gift for first-time pregnant moms/dads, or for siblings expecting a new addition to their family! The illustrations are lovely as well.

    Beautiful and inspiring

No matter your religion -or lack thereof - this book will charm you! It is the simple yet resonating story of each of us. One of the best books I have seen since The Littlest Angel and Imagine a Night.

This is an Excellent book for 'big' brothers or sisters.

This book is perfect for Christian parents to read to their children about how they got here or what is going on in mommy's tummy during pregnancy. I loved it!
