Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly
01/06/2014
This second installment of Rush’s Hidden series (after Magic Possessed) doesn’t veer from the dark fantasy romance formula: multiple types of paranormal entities, led by a group with a hidden agenda, an egomaniacal rogue character involved in nefarious goings-on, and a fate-bonded hero and heroine who must stop him and save the day. Kye is a Deuce, or witch; Kasabian is a Caido—descended from a fallen angel—whose father is kidnapping paranormal children and conducting deadly experiments on them. Their banter and chemistry make them terrific leads (particularly Kasabian). But in an effort to bring freshness to the formula, Rush overcompensates with absurdity; for example, the various paranormals must live in Miami to feed off the leftover energy of their onetime home base in the Bermuda Triangle. It’s not clear whether the series will sink or swim, but right now it’s floundering. (Feb.)

This is the third in a series but can be read stand alone.  All

This is the third in a series but can be read stand alone.  All three books run concurrently.  Each book focuses on a faction – Deuce, Dragon, & Caido and the attempts of one their respective gods attempts to return and the lengths their minions will go to to make that happen for them. Each book focuses on a couple who it falls to foil the plot and if they happen to find love along the way so much the better.
In this book Kye (a Deuce) is the key to helping Kasabian (a Caido) save the children that the bad guys are draining to power the gods return.  The clock is ticking and they are fighting the bad guys and their feelings for each other.
This is a fast paced, action packed, paranormal romance with occasional bouts of steamy sex thrown in for fun.  I gobbled it up.
