Dale Evans Rogers was a singer, actress, writer, speaker, and America's best-loved cowgirl. She was married to the late Roy Rogers.
Angel Unaware: A Touching Story of Love and Lossby Dale Evans Rogers
Entertainers Roy and Dale Evans Rogers were thrilled when their little daughter Robin was born. But their excitement turned to concern when they were informed that Robin was born with Down's Syndrome and advised to "put her away." The Rogers ignored such talk and instead kept Robin, and she graced their home for two and a half years. Though Robin's time on earth was short, she changed her parents' lives and even made life better for other children born with special needs in the years to come.
Angel Unaware is Robin's account of her life as she looks down from heaven. As she speaks to God about the mission of love she just completed on earth, the reader sees how she brought her parents closer to God and encouraged them to help other children in need.
This book, which changed the way America treated children with special needs, is now available to a new generation. It is the perfect gift for parents of special needs children, parents grieving the death of a child, or anyone whose life has been touched by a special child.

I read this book when I was a young girl, I am 44 now and the story has never left my mind. Since reading this book, I have lost a child to childhood cancer at 15, and went through a divorce and remarried and have a step son with special needs, this book was and is one of my favorite books. I believe in angels unaware and my son was mine!!!
After having lost my fifteen-day old son, a friend let me borrow her copy. I read it in an hour and so did my husband. We were so moved by the book that we ordered a copy for ourselves immediately. The manner in which it is written is excellent and makes it an appropriate book for anyone dealing with the loss of a child. My seven-year-old daughter will read it when we receive our copy. I highly recommend this book to anyone who has lost a child and to anyone who knows someone who has lost a child.
This is a great book on God's providence. It is only 33 pages long. That would have been nice to have mentioned in the book overview. There is a reference to a song lyric that was not printed. It said, "text not included because of rights restrictions". That is an issue that should have been resolved before it was released as an "e book".
I first read this book when I was 12 years old. I was inspired and blessed then to read it. I had the pleasure of meeting Mrs Evans and discussing the book at age 13. I lost the book through the years and have been looking for a copy. Now I am 46 years old and have read it again..and I feel the same inspiration and blessing I did so many years ago..this is a must read book..seeing how God works through the love of a child..simply amazing
I grew up with a sister like this angel and these children are truly angels. You may not know it until their time comes to go to God then you do. My sister passed out her love and caring to everyone one of in the family right up to the end. Even thou shes gone shes still teaching us.
I grew up watching movies and television shows with Roy Rogers and Dale Evans--back in the days when most, or at least many, celebrities understood that they were role models for children and tried to live the part. This little book is truly a tear-jerker but is a great insight into the heart of someone who loved a disabled child. Even those of us who have never had to deal with such a situation can appreciate the pathos invested in Dale Evans Rogers's words.
I read this book in one sitting. I highly recommend this book to anyone that has a child with a disabilty. The book is written through the eyes of there little girl. You just have to read it to feel the wonderful feeling it leaves behind. It's the most amazing thing I have ever experienced.
I am ordering this book today...I read it 42 years ago...in a few hours and still remember the name and story. I am buying it to reread and then leave for my grandchildren when I die.
