It's no surprise to me that my mother, Shirley Atha, has written such a passionate book about respecting and loving your pet, as well as all of God's creatures. I remember when a stray cat came to our house when I was a child. She was pregnant and was having trouble trying to deliver her kittens. Mom, being Mom, took the cat in and helped her give birth to five babies. Sadly, they were born dead.
