Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Denise Daley
Angelina Ballerina has a new baby sister but her excitement quickly turns to disappointment. Everyone is so involved with the baby that Angelina soon feels ignored, neglected, and a little bit jealous. Nobody had prepared poor Angelina for all of the constant attention that baby sister Polly would command. It seems that no one has time to hear Angelina's stories or even to see her new dance. Angrily, Angelina stomps off to her bedroom where she proceeds to throw her toys around. This action gains the immediate attention of both Angelina's parents and grandparents. The family helps Angelina feel better and she learns that being a big sister can be a big but rewarding job. This book was first published in 1991 and it will undoubtedly continue to be as well loved as all of the other popular Angelina books. Helen Craig's charming illustrations and Katharine Holabird's touching and delightful stories continue to charm and engage many young readers.
