Really loved this. A very unusual short story that previews the author's novel, BANISHED. The characters are so real and the story kept me turning the pages. I plan to buy the novel about these characters. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

Through her intricate weaving of characters, personalities and storyline, Billie Sue Mosiman gives this short story/prequel life.
Angelique isn’t your ordinary ten year old girl. She’s essentially the queen of the fallen angels. They are hers to command, and command she does. She brings back one of the fallen, Nisroc, and places him in the body of her former human puppet, who has died. After all, a ten year old child needs to appear to have a guardian, right?
Nisroc, for his part, is thrilled to have a body again – with a pretty nice physique too. Being disembodied isn’t all it’s cracked up to be - he’s missed having the good things that come with this frail human shell. After gaining his strength within his new form and speaking with Angelique, he begins to wonder about his new “life”. Maybe it won’t turn out to be all he’d hoped with Angelique calling the shots…
Angelique has decided it’s time to move on, and the journey they begin at the end of this short leads us into Ms. Mosiman’s new novel, “Banished”. I look forward to the trip.
