Meet the Author

A lifelong lover of books, Suzanne Enoch has been writing them since she learned to read. She is the author of two well-received Avon Regencies, The Black Duke's Prize and Angel's Devil, and five Avon Romances: Lady Rogue, Stolen Kisses, By Love Undone, Taming Rafe and Reforming a Rake. Born and raised in Southern California, Suzanne lives a few scant miles from Disneyland with her collection of Star Wars action figures and a Cairn terrier named Katie (after the heroine of her first Regency). She's still looking for her own hero, and hopes he will be handsome, titled, and just a little wicked. Meanwhile, she's currently at work inventing him in her next historical romance.

Short and somewhat predictable, but sweet

I enjoyed the story of Angel and James. Although the story was brief - coming in at less than 200 pages - I thought Ms. Enoch perfectly captured their relationship. I admit the subplot with Angel's fiance and best friend falling in love seemed a tad rushed and uber convienient, I bought it hook, line, and sinker. I also enjoyed the wit and biting exchanges that flew between Angel and James. My one complaint is a lack of an epilogue to show where this couple ended up. Overall, a quick and enjoyable romp.

    Great

I have never read anything by this author. I was pleasantly surprised. This book had a wonderful storyline. I finished the book in a day. It had no sex scene which is a plus for teens.

    Not what i expected

Overall, this is a pretty cute story. It's a short and pretty enjoyable, but I was glad it didn't cost much. I liked the characters but there seemed to be an underlying weakness that didn't quite fit. I was expecting a little more defiance from the lead characters, and a lot more passion. There wasn't a single sex scene and very little kissing. While sex scenes aren't mandatory in a romance novel, they are expected, to a degree. I have to agree with another reviewer that this felt more appropriate for teenage readers. I would probably recommend this book to someone looking for a light read, along with a warning it might not meet expectations. Suzanne Enoch is still one of my preferred readers, but I'm hoping to come across more of her novels that have a hint more scandalous behavior. A little too innocent for my tastes but worth the read.

    Clever, heart-warming romance

Clever banter between Angel and Devil. I enjoyed her young brother and sister and the pets, also.

    What?

Was not impressed. Its like the author needed to end it in 5 pages or less. Super chessey. There are better books.

    Wonderful story!

This is an older publication recently released as an ebook. Apparently it was scanned and not proofread before its release. The story, however, is simply wonderful. Angelique is a very intelligent young lady and a free spirit in a cage. She is secretly betrothed to Simon and tries to get her parents to let her and Simon move up the wedding date. Simon's cousin (the Devil of the title) returns from the war to finish recovering from his injuries. The story flows with clever repartee and high emotions. I recommend this book in all its forms.
