This book was amazing! Reading through the different scenarios of Dr. Lesslie on the night shift was truly inspirational! Reading the story of the drug mishap was very inspiring because it shows that even the top dogs, make mistakes. Another thing that truly inspired me was when Dr. Lesslie had to tell family members about the tragedies and the out comes. This book relates to my English ethnography project because we were searching about nurses in the ER, telling families about death, and their family members. My overall rating of this book, was amazing, hands down amazing. Five stars!
Love it. Wish there were more like it.
Angels on the Night Shift Robert D. Lesslie, MD ©2012 Harvest House Publishers ISBN 978-0-7369-4842-5 (pbk.) Emergency room accounts always interest people, not only for the patients involved but also for the successful treatments (and sometimes not successful.) However, not all hurting people in ER’s are patients. Some are employees. With sympathy and concern Dr. Lesslie brings stories of his work alive for readers. As a former ER RN, I believe his attitude as well as his skill helped the people he saw during their treatments and recovery. The book also contains a mystery about who is stealing drugs from the ER supplies. A young hospital administrator is sure he knows the thief. His actions impact the efficiency of the ER functioning and cause misery for some of the staff. Readers will wonder if this man’s unwise accusations will be stopped.
