I teach an emotional health course at a mid-sized university. I have had my students use this book and have also taught several of the skills in my course. Anger expression and hostile attitudes are increasing in this country and many of my students admit to having problems. Thoughout my course the students do several different emotional health self experiements and they consistently rate the anger management skills, which are based on those taught in this book, as the most helpful to them during the semester.
I found this book to be extremely helpful and user-friendly for a range of target audiences, both academic and non-academic. It could be used not only in anger/stress management courses, but also as a self-help book for adults for even teens. Unlike a lot of other anger/stress management resources, this book creates a program that moves from basic principles to skills-building to application in a way that I found to be particularly effective. The authors use a holistic approach to anger/stress management, covering all aspects of health¿physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual¿which is especially important in addressing this issue. Great book, and very affordable too.
This excellent book provides clear and concise guidance for understanding and coping with anger. It could serve as a handy resource for mental health providers as well as individuals seeking to overcome interpersonal anger issues. Thank You!
This book is a wealth of information ranging from the physical to the mental affects of anger and its' manifestations. It not only helps one to identify the emotions behind anger, but how to implement life changing goals in order to become a healthier, happier individual.
I found this book to be a valuable source for understanding anger and anger - related issues. It has now become, again, a reference for communicating with a family member.
I utilize the concepts of the 'Anger Management Sourcebook' as I work with physically challanged people in my position as a Fitness Professional.
I have read several Anger Management books and this was one of the worst. This books doesn't try to make you become a better person, it tries to make you become pathetic. Look elsewhere for help.
