More About This Textbook

Overview

“Few people know the real story behind the building of Apollo, but Mike Gray has managed to capture the drama and excitement of those urgent times. This is a fascinating book full of lessons about what America can achieve with vision and teamwork.” —Buzz Aldrin
Centuries from now, when the Cold War is as remote as the War of Roses and the passions of our time have faded into footnotes, humanity will still remember July 16, 1969, the day the first human beings departed from earth bound for a landing on the moon. Angle of Attack turned out to be a story of ordinary people organized for an extraordinary purpose. It is an anthem to human cleverness, and it is a vivid reminder of what we are capable of when we choose to follow leaders with courage and vision.

As the world observes the 25th anniversary of the first man on the moon, this exciting book tells the gripping story of the engineers who answered President Kennedy's challenge and devoted their lives to accomplishing the impossible. "A fascinating book . . . about what Americans can achieve with vision and teamwork."--Buzz Aldrin.

A NEW APPRECIATION OF APOLLO AND THE PEOPLE WHO BUILT THE MACHINE!

I WAS A PRO SPACE PROGRAM TEEN DURING THE MOON LANDING AND WATCHED NEIL MAKE THOSE FIRST STEPS ON THE MOON, MY FAMILY DID NOT WANT OR UNDERSTAND WHY WE HAD TO SPEND THE COUNTRY'S RESOURCES TO PUT MAN ON THE MOON WHICH SOME TIMES LED TO HEATED DEBATES. APOLLO INSPIRED ME TO A FUTURE IN AVIATION AND IT WAS DURING THE MID 80S THAT AIR&SPACE MAG. RECOMMENDED THIS NEW BOOK COMING TO PRINT BY MIKE GRAY, NEEDLESS TO SAY I PURCHASED THAT FIRST PRINT OF ANGLE OF ATTACK. I HAD TO FORCE MYSELF TO PUT THE BOOK DOWN FOR READING LATER BUT I COULD NOT AND WOULD WAKE FROM PARTIAL SLEEP TO FINISH IT, FROM SOMEONE IN AEROSPACE'S TECHNICAL AREA I FULLY UNDERSTAND WHAT IT TAKES AND THE PROBLEMS THAT HAD TO BE SOLVED BEFORE THIS MACHINE SYSTEM COULD BE ENTRUSTED TO TAKE HUMANS TO THE MOON! I ALSO LOVE THIS BOOK FOR ACKNOWLEDGING THE HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE WHO WERE RESPONSIBLE FOR BUILDING THE APOLLO SYSTEM FOR WHICH THIS BOOK WAS DEDICATED AND RIGHTFULLY SO.
