Editorial Reviews

Entertainment Weekly
Eminem proves himself a peerless rap poet with a profound understanding of the power of language.
Details
His ryhmes sting like a lungful of crack.
Newsweek
Eminem has not only become the legitimate heir to Tupac Shakur and the Notorious B.I.G., he's arguable the most compelling figure in all of pop music.
VOYA
In this book, Eminem describes the true meanings of his songs. I learned a new side of his character. He really gets his point across. He does not hide his feelings, which can be good and bad. The inappropriate language could be bad for younger readers, but it's good that he lets people know that they shouldn't take his songs seriously. Photos. Library Journal
A successful addition to public and school libraries, Eminem consists of portraits, performance shots, and lyrics to dozens of the MC's songs-all proceeded by a paragraph of commentary. Meanwhile, Noise collects 23 substantial and engaging essays by the likes of Jon Parales, Richard Goldstein, and Robert Christgau; a balanced study for larger public libraries. The Real Slim Shady

Okay, so they made me do the single. Thing was, I had that hook for a minute, but I was nervous about doing anything with it. I didn't even bring it to Dre. He didn't know I had it in store, stockpiled with a bunch of other hooks. See, I write the hooks a lot of times before I write the actual rhyme. So I had this hook, but I asked myself, "Will this work?" It just needed the right beat. Man, we went into the studio about four times trying to come up with one. We did about four or five different tracks and still nothing was working. Finally, me and Dre was in the studio and we had just about given up. I was laid out on the couch, exhausted, and Dre was about to leave the room. I was tellin' the bass player and keyboard player to play something till I liked it. So they kept f--kin' around, f--kin' around, f--kin' around, and f--kin' around till Tommy (one of Dre's keyboard players) played the first few notes of "The Real Slim Shady" and I jumped up and said, "What was that?" I then asked him to do something different with it. Make it go up, and then down. He did a couple of different things with it until I was like "Right there." I then ran and got Dre to come listen to it. They added drums. Now, this all happened on a Friday. We had a meeting on Saturday with the label and they asked, "Well, did you come up with anything?" I played them "The Way I Am" and they said, "It's a great song. It's just not the first song." Originally, they were talking' about "Criminal" being the single, but I told them to let me take this sh-t ("The Real Slim Shady" instrumental) over the weekend and I'd have the rhyme written by Monday. Then we'd see if it worked. If it didn't, then f--k it. Right around this time was when Will Smith was dissin' gangsta rap and Christina Aguilera was talkin' sh-t about me on MTV, putting me on blast about being married during a time when I wasn't ready for the public to know that about me yet. So I waited just long enough to get new subject matter to get into. Now I had something to talk about. I came in on Monday, recorded it, and was done. Interscope, obviously, was satisfied. That situation made me value the saying "Things happen for a reason."

THIS BOOK IS SO COOL, BECAUSE IT LETS US (THE READERS) KNOW WHERE HE WAS AT (MENTALLY AND PHYSICALLY) WHILE HE CREATED EACH ONE OF HIS 'MOST POPULAR' (MAINSTREAM) SONGS. PEOPLE WILL BE REALLY SURPRISED BY JUST HOW EMOTIONALLY HEALTHY HE REALLY IS AND THAT THE SONGS HE WRITES AND RAPS ARE REALLY JUST AN OUTLET FOR HIS EMOTIONS. TOO BAD OTHER PEOPLE CAN'T PICK UP HIS LEAD AND TURN 'NOT SO FORTUNATE SITUATIONS' INTO TRIPLE PLATNIUM HITS, OR ANY OTHER POSTIVE STEP IN THEIR LIVES AND OTHERS TOO!! EMINEM IS NOT ONLY THE **BEST** RAPPER, AND **FINEST** MUSICIAN, HES ALSO A **CARING FATHER**. EMINEM, YOU ROCK MY WORLD!! NATALIE GENN, SAN FRANCISCO

The mind of Marshall Mathers is all but thrown out into the pages of Angry Blonde. Eminem reveals the troublesome relationships and situations he had to deal with while trying to make it to rap superstardom. This book is a must-have for Eminem fans, and is a very interesting read even if you dislike the rapper.(if you dislike him you are INSANE tho!!!)

The Book Angry Blond is a biography written my Eminem. This book is about his music, and why he uses the words he does. It tells in detail what each song is about and why he wrote it. I think that if you like Eminem's music, and want to know the real reason he uses his words, you might be interested in this book. I enjoyed this book because I like Eminem and his music. I read his lyrics and discovered that what he said was clever. He might have lost a relationship with his mother and wife, but what he said and told the world about it was all real. I think this is a great book, and if you are interested in Em or his music, you should check it out.
