Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature
The engaging pictures and text introduce young children to a variety of baby animals and their parents. The locale is a home. The opening spread shows four furry paws. The text gives clues with the word "Meow!" and a description. It then asks "Who is my mommy?" Turning the page shows the mother and in this case it is a cat. Kids will also learn that a baby cat is called a kitten. The same format is used to present a goldfish and her fry, dog and her puppy, guinea pig and her pup, rabbit and her bunny and a baby parrot and its mother. The book concludes by asking the child who his or her mommy is. Interactive and educational with beautiful photographs in a sturdy board book format. 2005, Kingfisher/Houghton Mifflin, Ages 1 to 3.
