Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Janet Morgan Stoeke
Most of the facts in this book are icky. That's the point, I guess. Gross things are very entertaining to school-aged kids. I can imagine some kids just loving to read about animals eating dung, carrion or vomit. It is science, but, well, wouldn't you rather they read about something else? There's a place for this information somewhere, and the author has done a thorough, if icky, job of packing this book with unmentionable menus. Illustrations manage to avoid being offensive.
Kirkus Reviews
A people's-eye-view of the strange and unusual eating habits found in the animal kingdom; children will be drawn to the disgusting realm of meals made of spit, vomit, cigarettes, skin, and dandruff, just to name of few.
