Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot
In this introduction to animal movements, learning is reinforced through touch. The embossed pages feature the spots on a ladybug, scales on a chameleon and the spiral structure of a snail's body along with a few others. The picture of each animal is accompanied by one word that relates to movement—crawl, climb, slide and strut are examples. Parents and caregivers will need to know what each animal is since that is bound to be a question (a quick perusal is advised). The only animal that may be a toss-up as far as identification is the porcupine/hedgehog/echidna. It would seem that the illustrations could match any of these animals. This is a sturdy board book that is part of a "Touch, Look and Learn Books" series and is a good choice for kids who want to do more than just listen. A companion to Animals Talk.
