Syd was just another lonely working class guy singing the steel-town blues. Then he met Nora. She's sensual, Erotic. Amoral. A creature of the night and she's luring Syd across the line that few can cross--and fewer survive: the line that separates man from beast.

    Enjoy the game

Syd Jarrett is late for work, he's just hit a deer with his Mustang and he now finds himself in the woods; looking for a carcass that somehow wasn't where it should have been after the impact. Especially, considering the amount of blood left on the car. Syd wants to put it out of it's misery, but when he finds it, he also finds that something else is doing a thorough job of beating him to the punch. This deer isn't roadkill, never was. This deer is prey; and Syd has just stumbled, crowbar in hand, into the middle of the meal. The predator locks eyes with Syd, but does not attack. Perhaps it senses a kinship. Syd shows no fear. He keeps it locked in the basement, like a mean family dog that can't be trusted around company. There are other things locked away there as well. Animal agressions that the civilized and sane among us manage to keep in check. The beast sees this well. And Syd and the beast will meet again.
Skipp & Spector once again bring the fine china to the table, spinning a tale that stands as a monument to the collaborative efforts from the team that have come before. Experience is everything, as a popular commercial would say, and does it show here. Expect all the visceral impact of their earlier works that defined a genre. Expect the tight, original plotting and vivid characterization. Expect the signature style of wordplay, the unique music of words that only these authors have. Expect it all, because it's there. Just don't expect love. It'll spoil the surprise.
    Oops.
Like the hunter said at the dinner table: "Enjoy the game!"

    Animals Book Review

This book is awesome and they have recently made a film as well. The cast is amazing starring Eva Amurri (Californication) and Naveen Andrews(Lost). I had the chance to prescreen the film and it was well done. The film will be in your local retailers June 15, 2010.

    learning to let go...

This book is ultimately about a man who learns to let go. He learns to let out his inner self that he suppressed his whole life. His animal nature is freed. This is more than just an average story about werewolves. It's erotic, raw, carnal and full of emotions! It's about relationships and how far people will go to hold on to them. But beware the high body count and seemingly endless gore. This book is very descriptive!
