Pamela Colman Smith, daughter of Brooklyn Socialite Corinne Colman and Charles Smith of the West India Improvement Company, is most favorably known for her illustrations of the Rider Waite Tarot Deck. However, she is an extraordinary visionary artists whose influences range from her early days growing up in Jamaica to her involvement in the Golden Dawn. Annancy Stories are the spirited stories based on Annancy the Spider-sometimes man, PCS heard as a child growing up in Jamaica. The hardes part of Annancy Stories is reading the heavily accented English, but the stories are rich, steeped in native folklore and fable.
