Annie has some great immediate and extended family members, including her fun-loving grandmother. This easy-to-read tale from the "Ready-to-Read Level Two" series focuses on of the nights during which she is allowed to sleepover at the home of her smiley grandmother, a monthly occurrence. The tale begins as Annie readies herself and Snowball, her fluffy white pet rabbit, to make the trip to Grandmother's. There, Annie plays with Grandmother's pet bird, they sip a cup of tea, and make some delicious cookies. Movie watching, bedtime rituals, and storytelling round out the wonderful day. This book by a well-known author and illustrator consists of for short chapters filled with episodes with which many youngsters can relate. Special details such as peppermint candy, a tic-tac-toe game with the cookie dough, and various pets and stuffed animals add to the whole.
