Annie, Get Your Guy/Messing around with Max

Two great stories in one book.

What can I say about a Lori Foster story? Delightful. Wonderful. Touchingly funny. Endearing characters. Sexy guys. Women who go after what they want. Books that are keepers. What can I say when I get two Lori Foster books in one? That I am deliriously happy! I found all of this in the newest addition to her repertoire, her March DUETS. They are the sequel to her popular story 'Little Miss Innocent?' This time, the stories are about the Sawyers siblings, Annie and Max.
'Annie, Get Your Guy' is about Annie Sawyers and her plans to land family friend Guy Donovan. After he gets injured, she whisks him up to a secluded cabin where she intends to seduce him and make him see she is a woman, not 'like a sister'. Once at the cabin, things steam up and Annie lands her Guy. Throughout the book, Lori's trademark comedic touches are apparent. It was enjoyable and I hated to see the story end.
'Messing Around With Max' is the second half of the this book. It has a dog that hates women and secondary characters that had me laughing. Max has decided that he will not marry a woman unless his dog likes her. They meet Maddie and slowly Max and his dog fall in love with her. It too is an enjoyable story with just the right comedy and steaminess that Lori Foster is known for.

If you are looking for a book to read that is lightheartedly funny and sexy, then pick this one up.

fabulous romantic romps

¿Annie Get Your Guy¿. Annie Sawyer knows her bookstore is a success, but when it comes to luring a blockhead like Guy Donovan she is a failure. He treats little Annie like a younger tomboyish brother. With the encouragement of her sister-in-law, Annie plans to seduce Guy. Either he will die of a heart attack from laughing at her, lose all respect for her, or match the beat of her heart. The only problem is that Guy plans to marry someone else.

¿Messing Around With Max¿. Annie¿s brother Max meets one of her regulars Maddie Montgomery at the bookstore. Her show of affection towards his mean-spirited but harmless dog Cleo stuns him. He goes into near cardiac arrest when she chooses him to teach her everything she wants to know about sex. However, though Cleo accepts Maddie, Max wonders how to persuade Maddie that though he may be a reprobate, she is his destiny.

Writing for Duets has to be one of the more frightening assignments for an author because readers obviously compare the two tales. Writing two novels for the same Duet has to be even scarier because the audience can contrast your own work and find one lacking substance which means there is damage to one¿s reputation. Based on her works in DUETS 47, Lori Foster shows she has the talent to handle double duty, as her two Sawyer tales are fun and amusing with likable lead characters. No messing around, Ms Foster gets her fans with a pair of fabulous romantic romps that provide delightful entertainment.

Annie Gets Her Guy?Messing Around With Max

Annie Sawyers has been in love with Guy Donovan for years and decides to take matters into her own hands and sets out to seduce him. Her plans get sidetracked for a moment when he announces his plans to marry a woman totally wrong for him. Annie decides to change his mind before he makes a terrible mistake. Max Sawyers decides he has to get married to provide a stable home environment for his dog. The catch is the woman would have to pass the Cleo test, but the woman who does is more interested in a fling then a permenant relationship. I have waited for these stories for over a year and they were more then worth the wait. Max and Annie are funny, sexy and all the things you have come to expect from a Lori Foster book. Run, do not walk to the store when Annie Gets Her Guy and Messing Around With Max hits the stands.

Lori Foster delivers what you want in a great romance, and her Harlequin DUETS release this March is no exception! There's great witty humor, lots of sexual tension, and you'll find yourself not wanting to put the book down till it's finished. ANNIE GET YOUR GUY has Annie Sawyers, determined to get her guy --- Guy Donovan. He may be holding back, but armed with loads of books on sex Annie sets out to drive him straight into her arms. If you're looking for something to lift your spirits and chase away those winter doldrums, you only have to pick up a copy of the March Duets from Harlequin, Annie Get Your Guy & Messing Around With Max, both by Harlequin superstar, Lori Foster.

Both stories feature characters from Ms. Foster's Silhouette Desire, LITTLE MISS INNOCENT? (2/99) in leading and secondary roles. If you haven't read LITTLE MISS INNOCENT? I recommend you do so, as it provides a good introduction to the Sawyers family and the rest of the characters.
