The book continued the story well but the ending felt like an abrupt cop-out
If you enjoyed the Mitchell family in the first three books then you enjoy seeing how they became what are in this book. This book takes you back to the very beginning with Dave and Madeline. I know for me when I read the other three books I though Madeline was bitter, evil and mean because Dave left her but now I know different. Now I fully understand why Madeline was so bitter when it came to Dave and so angry with Sherry. Dave made me so angry in this book because he kept putting everything before his family but made time to have dinner with Sherry. Even when he took in his godson he said he was going to help but he wasn't there for the young man like he should have been. Madeline carried their family with ease and he still couldn't find time for them. After reading this book I feel sorry for Madeline because with the other books I thought she was mean and evil but now I see that she is just trying to cover up the pain Dave caused her.
