Although Larry Clark's film Another Day in Paradise is set squarely in the 1970s, its accompanying soundtrack jumps all over the map, with much of its music, most notably Otis Redding's "Hard to Handle" and Bob Dylan's "Every Grain of Sand," dating back a decade earlier; there are even a few contemporary performances from acts including N'Dea Davenport "One More Cup of Coffee" and Chocolate Genius "Can I Change My Mind". Still, most of the music is engaging, and in fact the soundtrack works better removed from the film, its curious time-warping far less obtrusive when taken on its own terms.
