Anthologie

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - Thom Jurek
While not quite as complete as the four disc Rock'n'Roll Man issued the same year, Johnny Hallyday's Anthologie is, in its way, preferable as a set for those interested in Hallyday's French hits rather than his English ones. In fact, the only two songs in English here would have been unconscionable to leave out--"Rock'n'Roll Attitude," and his cover of Billy Roberts' ubiquitous "Hey Joe." What is here, included in this three disc, 46 song r career retrospective are the very best of his singles, soundtrack cuts and one-offs that created and sustained the legend throughout the 60s and 1970s.
