Overview

He told me to 'settle, girl.'

He asked if 'something was wrong with me?'

He said I was an ‘easy target.’

That was within minutes when I first met Caden Banks.

I labeled him an *sshole, but he was more than that. Arrogant. Smug. Alpha.

He was also to-die-for gorgeous, and my stepbrother’s fraternity brother.

Okay, yes I was a little naive, a tad bit socially awkward, and the smallest amount of stalker-ish, but if Caden Banks thought he could tell me what to do, he had another thing coming.

I came to college with daydreams about being with my stepbrother, but what would happen if I fell for the anti-stepbrother instead?

Tijan has done it again! This book was wonderful. Tijan has a way of writing stories about young adults that are so passionate and heartfelt as an older woman I love these stories.

Review Of Anti-Stepbrother By Tijan Ever since the first mention of Anti-Stepbrother on Facebook, for some reason I knew, I just had to have it. Now, after reading it, I know why, this book was AMAZEBALLS. I literally could not put this book down and even ignored sleep to finish it (I had to be up at 7 AM to get my kids ready for school....lol). This is my first Tijan novel but it definitely won't be my last (I already have my eye on a few others). I really enjoyed the fact that this wasn't your run of the mill Stepbrother romance story (which don't get me wrong I do enjoy) it may seem to start out that way but then segues into something much more compelling. Summer Stoltz is a beautiful girl who doesn't always see that for herself. Her high school crush Kevin Matthews, whom all the girls want to be with (and most of them have), ends up becoming her stepbrother. Talk about awkward family dinners. Summer finds it hard to turn off her feelings for Kevin, even after he goes off to college. Summer can't wait to graduate so she can follow Kevin and finally make her dream of being with Kevin a reality. Once at college, Summer's rose colored glasses, where Kevin is concerned, start to show cracks and his true self is finally revealed to her. Enter tall, dark, and handsome Caden Banks, well known man on campus who rubs Summer the wrong way upon first meeting him. To add insult to injury, Summer soon learns that Caden is in the same fraternity as her stepbrother Kevin. Caden Banks is a man of few words and even fewer people he would consider a good friend. He is a well respected member of the fraternity Alpha Mu and shows up to all places and events like he should but manages to find a way to slink off and do his own thing. Enter Summer Stoltz, a freshman who happens to be the stepsister of Kevin Matthews, his hated fraternity brother. For some reason there is just something about Summer that has him second guessing his first impression of her. After a few run in's with each other Summer and Caden develop a close friendship. To say that Kevin isn't happy about this would be an understatement. Caden and Summer both have family history that they both want to keep to themselves. But soon their family drama starts to spill over into their personal lives and affecting everything around them. Then the unthinkable happens and threatens to shatter their whole world apart. To say any more would ruin this truly phenomenal book. Tijan's ability to tell a story with intriguing and complex characters is flawless. If you are searching for a book that will keep you hooked from start to finish then Anti-Stepbrother is the perfect book. On a scale from 1-5 I must give Anti-Stepbrother a 10. Yes, it is off my scale but for a book to make me give up my precious sleep it must be considered a truly worthwhile book. Whether you are looking for a great college romance, a Stepbrotherish romance, conflict, or just an all-around fantastic read you really can't go wrong with this book. Everyone aged Adult 16/17+** should rush right out to buy Anti-Stepbrother and find out why Summer isn't the only girl who is interested in the Anti-Stepbrother Caden. **Granted this is a romance novel and there is some sex in it I feel it is tastefully done and I feel a mature 16/17 year old could handle this book.

The drama is what has me giving this only 3 stars. I got extremely frustrated and impatient with Summer and her stupidity. Also thought Caden's decision toward the end was soooo unrealistic and cruel. You don't act that way when someone is hurting. It felt very juvenile. Anyway, I was disappointed.

"Insanity Sea" Is The New Key West No worries here, there are NO SPOILERS in this review! I've said this so many times over the past few weeks, how do I write a review that even comes close to describing or doing any justice for any of Tijan's books? If you've read her books, you know that it's not possible! If you haven't, I highly recommend that you pick up this book! This book is a standalone, but I'm hoping that there will be more. I keep leaving hints, like this, hoping that a certain author, Tijan, will notice (hint, hint...nudge, nudge). I did receive this from TRSOR, who I thank very much for letting me be a part of this event. This is a MUST READ! After being in a bit of a book slump, I was reading good books, but nothing that grabbed me. I wasn't wanting to stay up all night, then true to form, Tijan does it again! Summer goes to college expecting Kevin, her stepbrother, to be waiting for her with open arms. Instead, she finds a different scenario and runs into a hot & sexy Caden. Summer is someone who had me laughing & crying with. She is who I could relate to as myself or be my best friend. Caden is the definition of an alpha male, who anyone would want to be with. That's exactly how the entire college acts too. Guys want to be him and girls want to be with him. Everyone except Summer. He's very relatable as well. He's protective of the friends he has and of his brothers. Did I say he was beyond hot, which this just makes him hotter?! I love Colton and I want to see something written about him starting in this book or in the now. Marcus & Avery are fun too! I wish Avery would get rid of some friends, but I think she's someone who has a big heart. That's why Summer and her get along so well. Marcus, well, he's a wait and see. I love the banter he and Summer have. Add Colton and Caden, and Marcus has met his match. This book with fill you with so many emotions, you will be laughing until you cry or vice versa! With pink flamingo's, road trips, dramatic family issues, hospital trips, restaurant fights, and so much more.... This author is always amazing and did another great job at showing the "masks" that Caden wears, and the "Band-Aids" that Summer uses to cover her own feelings, pain, and emotions. However, when the fireworks start, who will make it through? Will there be any couples or do "fairytales end?"

Anti-Stepbrother by Tijan is a new adult romance story about a girl who thinks she is in love with her step-brother and soon discovers that what she truly craves is the anti-stepbrother. The guy who is everything her stepbrother is not. Summer is infatuated with the idea of being with her step-brother again. When she heads off to college a few days early to spend time with him and finds him in flagrante with another guy's girlfriend reality starts to slip into the ideal she has pictured in her mind. When Caden is the one to see her immediately after her discovery of the aforementioned step-brother a weird bond forms between them. One that begins with agitation and confusion but ends up being unbreakable and true beyond all measure. Without giving away any secrets, this is an angst ridden story that will you have you lusting after Caden, and wanting to slap the step-brother upside the head, repeatedly. Summer is awkward and flawed and while I thought she was a little naive and immature at times I couldn't help but relate exactly to her feelings as I think most of us, at some desperate point in our lives, have felt like she did about someone unattainable. So I commiserated with her more than anything. I absolutely loved this story and couldn't put it down for anything short of an apocalyptic occurrence.

5 “Caden Banks - SWOON!” Stars! This heartwarming friends-to-lovers romance is a perfect ten! Witty and fun with a little bit of angsts, Anti-Stepbrother is a must read! The Review: Anti-Stepbrother is an outstanding read! Being a huge fan of this author, I knew I was going to be in for a delectable treat when we got word she had a new stand alone coming out and trust me when I say, this book was nothing short of amazing. I loved every romantic, clever, sweet moment between Caden and Summer. Another fantastic read from Tijan! Story/Characters... Kevin Matthews is self-centered, clueless and egocentric. He was top dog in highschool but that boy had a few things to learn about himself, about the world and about people in general. Calling him a douche-canoe wouldn’t be too inaccurate. Summer Stoltz has been in love with her step-brother, Kevin, for the last two years. Going to college to be with him seemed like the next step after their summer night of love, but when she gets there, she’s faced with a reality she never expected as the blinders fall away and Kevin Matthews true colors shine through. Summer is left vulnerable after her heart has been stomped on and when she literally bumps into Caden Banks, he leaves her with an offensive first impression and a rapid heartbeat. She officially titles the hottie, “Asshole”. Caden and Summer start off their relationship with an adorable awkwardness and some sassy barbs, but soon find themselves being thrown together in weird circumstances where their friendship blooms and takes off. I loved Summer. She was uncomplicated and honest to a fault. She was somewhat naive and when we first meet her, she’s living in a bit of delusion, but that soon changes. She was brave and strong and the right kind of weird. I loved watching as she slowly left her wallflower ways behind, allowing her confidence to grow, and letting her spirited, bold inner badass take over. She was an inspiration and a breath of fresh air. Caden is a no-nonsense kind of guy. A family tragedy has left him reeling and he’s determined to live every day as a better man. His attraction to Summer starts off because she’s different and real. But he’s also cautious with her because he senses she has feelings for Kevin. Soon though, her goofy, quick-witted character draws him in and their steady friendship blooms into a beautiful, full on friends-to-lovers romance that left my heart melting and a goofy smile on my face. As always, this author provides a round-house of fascinating, lively characters. Marcus and Avery were a delightful side story that added an extra bit of romance to our romance! I loved watching these two find one another. And Colton.... Oh how I loved his story. My heart broke while it also soared for the challenges he faced and the love that surrounded him. The Wrap Up: Anti-Stepbrother was a perfect romance and one I will enjoy time and again. I love rereading books and this one is already in my reread pile! I heart Caden hard!
