I have been a John Mayer fan for many years now. His lyrics, his music, his passion are just unmatched. How his lyrics can be related to by everyone is just amazing and makes him unmatched as an artist. Any Given Thursday has some amazing music on it, some you won't find released, like Man on the Side, an incredible song. There are versions of songs he does live, like Comfortable which are just mind blowingly amazing! I listen to it after all these years all the time. Some people won't give him a chance, but he deserves it, this was his best era in my opinion.

Room For Squares was amazing, no doubt about that. But, this CD is just John Mayer, live, uncut, and unrestricted. He starts off the show with 3X5, an awesome song. He also chooses to play songs he's never played before such as "Something's Missing", which is my personal favorite. He doesn't hesitate to croon his listeners away while singing in that beautiful voice of his with hits like "Back to You" and the renowned "Your Body is a Wonderland". John Mayer is amazing--singer, songwriter, and most of all, musician. The prolonged guitar solos show that side of J. Mayer that weren't as obvious on his first recording--that is, his potential for winning the hearts and ears of America.

I had heard John Mayer's name here and there but had I never actually heard any of his music until a friend introduced me to "Any Given Thursday" and I was blown away. John has the most beautiful voice and delivers his songs with so much passion. While he makes his listening audience feel very comfortable when he performs, and primarily because he is hysterical. I like a wide variety of music, but I was never really into to any Alternative or Rock but John can pull anyone his way. I hear a lot of people liken him to Dave Matthews, which I don't think he is. I think John is better artist than Dave Matthews. And the thing that John's music does effectively that not many artists do is appeal to such a wide variety of people. This CD is wonderful, it is defineatly a must have.

I bought this CD after falling in love with Room For Squares and I couldn't be happier. This CD captures the magic of being at a John Mayer show. It includes live favorites from "Room For Squares" along with other great songs like Comfortable, Man on the Side, and Somethings Missing. The man is truly amazing. This is a must have for any John Mayer fan.

This CD, along with all of his other releases, is a refreshing break from the packaged, monotonous pop stars that are being shot out at a mile a minute. John Mayer shows true talent and knows what music is and how to play it. The best part of the CD in my opinion is the opportunity to dive into his head simply by listening to his self-written lyrics. This is, simply put, the best CD I own. Its worth every single penny.

Well I dunno if its only me but I think that John Meyer is a Dave Matthews Rip Off- everything from his clothes to his stage setting to his song titles to his singing. The only thing that he wasn't able to imitate is the quality of the songs of Dave Matthews and the real music that he generates. I'm a real DMB fan and i don't know about this wannabe right here.

After listening to this record, 2 things become glaringly apparent: 1st) without a video to showcase his pouty lips, there is no distraction to keep you from reaching the conclusion that these songs just don't have a lot of substance. 2cd) John Mayer relys heavily on his svengali producer John Alagia. This disk is a dissapointment after hearing the hype about his live show for over a year now. After enjoying the single "your body is a wonderland" on the radio and MTV, I was prepared to like this cd. Sadly, if your over 25, you can't help but get the impression you have heard all this stuff before from artist's with greater depth and better delivery. However, the included cover of "message in a bottle" makes the cd worth buying if not for comedy value alone. John M. is in all likelyhood, reaching his 14th minute. John A. on the otherhand, should finally release his own records. Makes one wonder if the Dave Mathews band is getting any return on this kid's cds. They should.

This is a great album to pick up. I am a huge John Mayer fan, and as usual, was not disappointed. Many of your favorite songs of his you might not like as much because this is the live version, but they do hav many new songs u mite not hav heard and should defnitly hear! A MUST GET!

This was a little disappointing to say the least. I LOVE "Room for Squares" and figured this would be great too. He mixes songs - like "Let's Hear it For the Boy" which I can't stand and just generally rambles.

This concert disc is a must-have! His talent not only as a guitarist and true entertainer, but as a songwriter come to light in this album. Everyone should see/hear John in concert before they decide he "sounds just like Dave Matthews." Like DMB, his live shows are truly where he shines. There are comparisions made between these two artists because John Alagia, producer on both Room for Squares and this concert album, also produces Dave Matthews' albums, but that's where the similarites end. John Mayer's lyrics are stand-out. He writes from the heart--about breakups, falling in and out of love, getting used to new love while still missing the old. His lyrics are so true and honest and every song has such meaning--without being overly sappy. Truly an artist for my age group...I can relate to his experiences with our Quarter-life crises! +++On the DVD, for those looking for insight into each song there is an audio feature that showcases John evaluating his own performance. It's hysterical. He really is a quick-witted, funny, funny man.+++

I've been a John Mayer fan since he started out in the late 90's club scene. I've watched his music progress from the trip-hop acid jazz sound to what he has developed into today. This cd covers everything from his early years with the 8 peice back-up band to his new, stipped down approach with more of a latin feel. People looking for his hits like "Reach for the sky" and "Down the old plank river" might be disappointed, but if you want the authentic, "take no prisoners" approach that made him so popular with the blue collar crowd, this is the album for you. There are some great guest appearances, too, with a saprano sax solo by Yo-Yo Ma and some percussion layers added by the legendary Phil Collins Orchestra. Go out and pick up a copy today!
