A "keeps you guessing" short story. As good as any of the longer stories by Stabenow.

I read her novels often but I do not like short stores of any kind. I will check closer in the future. Full length or not at all

Have read all her regular length books. Don't really like short stories.

enjoyed the story, but way to short. needed to be a little longer to explain more about the characters. the reasons that they did what they did.

Save the 99 Cents unless you're stuck at a traffic light -- a ten minutes read that's more an outline for a short story than any real narrative.

I look forward to each Kate Shugak story - and they are good stories as well as a mystery - and Dana Stabenow takes one through Alaska, her people, and their thinking for another good story and mystery. Any Taint of Vice does not disappont. Now I have to wait for another in the series

Another nice short from one of my favorite authors. Well worth the read especially if you need a Kate and Mutt fix to get you to the next book.

Overview
In this terrific story from New York Times bestselling author Dana Stabenow, PI Kate Shugak is pulled into the mean streets of the Anchorage underworld to find Alyeska University president Victor Boatright's missing son Carl. For fans who can't wait for the next Kate Shugak novel and new readers alike, this story provides the perfect dose of Stabenow's trademark colorful characters and complex plotting.
