Overview

Nat has paid his dues and just needs his first by-line to break into the journalism business. It's gotten to the point where he isn't too fussy about what magazine or newspaper that by-line is in either. When his friend and old newshound Al arranges an interview for him at the Velvet Glove, a private BDSM club, Nat figures all he has to do is show up, do the interview and write his story. Hell, these clubs are all for show anyway and nobody really whips people for fun, right? His first indication that he might be mistaken is the serious, tall and more than a little scary dude who welcomes him into the club, the second is the extensive list of kinks he's asked to choose from. When he meets the man who's going to interview him and finds out that the interview is actually a scene, with him playing whipping boy, Nat realizes he may be in over his head. Join Nat on his fascinating journey into the life of a full-time sub in this story set in Sean Michael's Velvet Glove universe.

Okay.

Okay, I can do this.

Four years of journalism school, two years of mailroom work, two years of obits and fuck, I need a break in the worst way.

So when the old-queen photog--Al, his name was--suggested to me that there might be a way to break into features, or if not features, then at least the lifestyles pages? I said yes. Sure. Anything. Please.

Of course, I was thinking I'd interview drug dealers, puppy smugglers, people who thought they were psyvamps, maybe. I never thought that I'd be interviewing for a job at a ... God. These BDSM club things weren't real, were they?

I wiggle a little as I wait for the service door to open, the big building looks so huge, so cold, so ... unnerving in the pale moonlight. I'm in a pair of leather pants two sizes two small, a mesh shirt that my pale skin just glows milk white in and I look like a dork.

Al promised me a job interview, though. A chance to look around, to see, and I couldn't say no.

Even if planetary holo doesn't take it, one of those jerk-off cymags might and a byline is a byline.

When the door slides open, I blink up.

And up.

And up.

Christ, the dude is tall. "Hey. I ... I'm Nathaniel. I have an appointment. Albert set it up for me."

The guy looks me over from head to toe, one eyebrow going up in a way that clearly says "oh really".

"Follow me," is what he actually says though, and the tall dude turns and walks me past security and through a backroom. I can't get a really good look at anything though as we're moving pretty quickly.

Dude. Leather pants? Squeak.

A lot.

And hot?

Damn.

On the other hand, Mr. Tall and Quiet doesn't seem to behaving the same problem with his leather pants. Maybe it's the laces up the sides.

We go up a lift, my ... guide not saying a word and then we're through a door into an office that has more light and a big desk. The guy pulls one of the chairs out for me and goes around to sit behind the wooden desk--real wood ... There's a stationary comm unit on it, a couple of smaller comms, a large cup and a bunch of ... well sex toys. A fat purple dildo and a silver plug and a whip, and a few things I'm not exactly sure I can identify.

I swallow. I can do this. I can.

Great series - lots of fun and hot sex.

Love all Sean Michael's books.  This is a great series when you want to get involved in a story and read through lots of interesting (and different) characters and storylines.  Depending on how fast you read, it can take months.

Most books reference other couples, a few do not.  My preferred reading order:
    Connor's Journey
    Peace within the Quiet
    Love and the Farmer
    A Bird in the Hand
    Misadventures of Daniel and Zane
    Ghost
    Fits like a Glove
    Attitude on Wheels
    Braided
    Three to Heal
    Puppy Love
    Rock Stars and Size Queens
    Anything for a Byline
    Soaring With Hawk
    Touch and Trust
    Two Men for Two Brothers
    Raw Need
    Velvet Need
    Velvet Dragon
    Velvet Blade

Each book is worth the money!
